Required Reading: You will be required to read not only during class time but also outside of class, as well. You should dedicate at least 30 minutes-1 hour of your daily time to reading. Research shows that reading cultivates imagination, helps us to better understand other cultures, allows for the growth of vocabulary, and overall, reading helps shape us into humanitarians. Additionally, there are two novels students will be required to have a copy of by certain dates. It is the responsibility of the parent(s)/guardian(s) to review and approve of these novels, and if there are questions/concerns, please contact me at least two weeks prior to the required dates.
*As an English Facilitator, I am trying to allow
your students the opportunity to read about others-whether fictitious characters or real
human beings-that deal with social issues and how they break those boundaries
by working through those hardships.
